What Is Included in the Cost of an XMR Swap
A Monero exchange can involve several separate cost components. They do not all represent fees charged by the exchange service.

A service fee is the amount charged for processing the exchange. On this service, it generally falls between 0.15% and 1.25%, although the exact percentage depends on current route conditions.
A network fee is paid for recording a transaction on a blockchain. The deposit network fee is normally set by the wallet or sending network, while the cost of delivering the receiving asset may be reflected in the exchange quote.
Spread is the difference between relevant buy and sell pricing available through the selected route. It can affect the quoted exchange result, but it should not automatically be described as a separate service fee.
Because these components work differently, comparing only a percentage can be misleading. The estimated receiving amount shown before confirmation is the clearest way to compare the practical result of a swap.

Suppose the market-reference value of an expected payout is $500. The following example uses a service fee of 0.60% and an illustrative payout network cost of $1:

The example is not a current exchange quote. Network costs and available rates change over time, while a floating-rate result may also move before execution.
The same formula can be used to compare a reference amount with a quoted payout:

For example, if the market reference is 0.010000 BTC and the quote shows 0.009820 BTC:
(0.010000 − 0.009820) ÷ 0.010000 × 100 = 1.80%

Fixed rate
A fixed-rate quote preserves the calculated exchange terms for a limited confirmation period. The quoted result normally remains valid when the correct deposit amount arrives within the specified time and under the displayed conditions.
If the quote expires, the deposit arrives late, or the received amount differs from the expected amount, recalculation may be required.
Floating rate
A floating rate follows market conditions until the exchange is executed. The final payout can be higher or lower than the preliminary estimate.
